The Sun...

My grandmother used to say ; count your blessings while the sun is up and…. She never used to complete it and whenever I do ask her to complete it she would say “or the rain may just wash them off”. I will end up smiling but also be left in thoughts. I always wondered how a tiny drop of rain(heavy drops sometimes) could wash my blessings off. But as I grew older it began to make sense. The mystery behind what she meant by count your blessings began to unfold. Although it took me a while to realize it(smiles). On my way back from school today, the sun was scorchingly hot and it felt as though it was shining right into my skull. I tried to look for a safe haven to hide my head but there was none around. And then I remembered my grandma’s wise old saying. Earlier this morning it rained so much that I thought God was so angry with us. So much so that the thunder strikes shook the foundation of my home. Though it rained and of course messed up the road, hiked the fares of transportation,

Make Every Minute Count!…

I know what’s like to be busy and how much of the things around you, you don’t take note of. You just can’t help it. Can I do something about it you wonder? Yes, you can. When we talk about busyness and fruitfulness, we are literally addressing the way we use our time. Time is a resource that God has given us and he’s expecting us to be fruitful with it. Over the years I have learned not to use some certain words, words like “Am too busy”, “I can’t do this now”, “I don’t have the time for this”, “I am just passing the time”. My people, time is not a commodity to kill or to pass. It’s a steward that’s to be harnessed. Personally, I don’t like to waste time. I like to be productive with every minute. I don’t like to be kept waiting for a long time when I can be doing something resourceful and worthwhile with my time but yet again being impatient doesn’t help and it definitely hasn’t helped me much. I make diligent effort to keep everything on schedule and that doesn’t mean everythin

Make Every Minute Count! #Cont…

Hi everyone, how has your day been? Mine has been quite a rainy day. As a matter of fact, I got drenched by the rain. I didn’t expect it to rain as heavily as it did but at the same time I’m grateful for it and am sure those that have farms, gardens, would be thankful for it as well. Ok, so in the morning before I rushed off to school, I was speaking on how we should make every moment count. Well, I don’t mean to suggest that we should be doing something with every minute of every day. Taking time to reflect and just drink in the quiet and silence is also very valuable during those moments between scheduled events. Silence restores the soul and helps prepare us for the next thing we need to do. I value my quiet moment and so I try to create time to have my “alone moment” no matter how tight my schedule is. We need to learn to discern our needs physically, mentally, emotionally, and of course spiritually and use our time accordingly. Sometimes reading is best and at other tim

Tomorrow…(Guest Post)

No turning back.  On your mark, get set…..  What are you waiting for?  Don’t wait to be pushed, just go. Don’t get distracted from behind, just go. Be focused on what’s ahead and keep going. Let bygone be bygone. If you have a case, settle it, once settled keep moving, no turning back, there is no future behind.  Turn your back.  Turn your back against whatever it seems will draw you back, friends, family’s activities etc.  If it does not work for the purpose of taking you ahead, turn your back.  If you must be a leader you must turn your back against vices et al.  Yesterday is gone, forget it Today is here face it Tomorrow is waiting grab it.  I’m nwosu

I’m Your Friend…(Quest Post)

When the tunnel is dark The road is cramp When the end is blank The way is swamp I am your friend, still your friend when the wind is tough The room is hot When the land is hard The sky is blur I’m your friend still your friend. When the light is gone Your eyes is off When your nostrils are block The air is off I’m your friend still your friend When the load is heavy Your back is weak When the way is long Your legs are tired I’m your friend still your friend When you hope is dead Your faith is faint When you God is away Your end is dead I’m your friend still your friend When you need a hug But your arms are gone When you need a kiss But your mouth stinks I’m your friend, still your friend when you have a dream But sleep is on a journey When reality is done But you are still in the utopian I’m your friend, still your friend. When you need an arm I’ll give my arms When you need a leg I’ll walk the mile I’m your friend,
