It’s Time To Build….

Up our faith! God rarely places dreams in our hearts one day and fulfill  them the next. He begins by giving us a desire for something but then He rarely gives us the exact timing for when that desire will be fulfilled. I know what it’s like to be frustrated because you feel you have waited so long and so patiently for something that seems it will never come to pass. You know you have not waited forever, but you feel you have. You become weary, and you feel you simply cannot wait any longer. This happens to all of us including me. It is often part of the process we go through as we walk with God through seasons of waiting and as we hold fast to the promises we believe He wants to fulfill in our lives.  There is always a preparation period, and it is different for different people. I have been believing God for something for quite some time now and even in the silence i know he is speaking and working but i can’t move or take any decision until I get a cloud of confirmation. Confidence..#Pace-Setter!

It is difficult to have confidence and belief in yourself, when people do not allow you to be yourself!  We should not waste our life’s living in fear. When you do something do it with all your might and confidence. Nothing great can be achieved with fear and doubt. Over time, I have learnt that it is courage and confidence that gives wing to perseverance. Always follow your dreams. Don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t do something. Magic and miracle is in believing. Dear fans, do not bury your talents, the gifts that God has given you. Do not be afraid to dream of great things. The only thing we do for free without anyone’s opinion or suggestions is breathing and dreaming so breathe freely and dream big. You are destined for greatness. If you’re presenting yourself with confidence, you can pull off pretty much anything believe me.  A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will give you enough strength and confidence to overcome every problem on

Worthy Sacrifice…

How much of our sacrifice will God consider worthy? How much of our praises, worships, thanksgiving, will God consider as worthy enough? Psalms 51:17 (KJV)   says “ The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise. As I was observing my siesta after I returned from service, I don’t know if I was dreaming but all I kept hearing was “ worthy sacrifice, worthy sacrifice”.   I quickly woke up and knew God wanted me to write on this topic. I started by asking myself what kind of sacrifice will I offer to the Lord and it will be considered a worthy sacrifice? What kind of sacrifice will you offer to God and it will be considered a worthy sacrifice? Abraham is the father of many nations, loved and blessed by God. Today we are proud to say we are the sons of Abraham. We even have a popular song we sing in Nigeria “ Father Abraham has many sons, many sons have father Abraham, I am one of them and so are you, so let us prai

Becoming What You Believe…..

Hi everyone, am I the only one or is there anyone else thankful for this holiday break? I wish the holidays could stretch a little longer but then it’s not just about me. Many of us have jobs, businesses, school, life to get back to. Wondering what holiday am talking about? Well, I am referring to the break given to all our Muslim faithful’s as they round up their fast and since it’s a national break it extended to everyone in the country. Yesterday, I wrote on agreeing with God and how we need to value ourselves and always know that God does not measure our worth by what we do.  https://whitneyibeblog.wordpress.com/2017/06/25/agree-with-god-be-doubtless/?preview=true ... Today, my little one said to me she doesn’t want to go to school anymore. I asked her why she would take such a decision and she said: “I am not good in mathematics and I keep getting low scores.” “Everyone keeps laughing at me”.  I have always known mathematics is not one of her strengths, she prefers to wri

The Perfect Timing….

One of the biggest mistakes we make as believers is that we fail to remember that God’s timing rarely matches our timing. We think and plan in temporal terms, and God thinks and plans in eternal terms. What this means is we are very interested in right now, and God is interested in the long term. We want what God feels right now, what produces immediate results, but God is willing to be patient and deliberate as He invests in us over a period of time to produce results far better and longer lasting than we can imagine. Just as our children try to talk us into giving them what they want right away, we often try to talk God into immediately giving us what we want. He loves us even more than we love our children and He loves us too much too hastily give in to our pleadings. He knows something born prematurely might struggle to survive, so He waits until He knows everything is properly prepared for the arrival of our dream. He sees what we do not see and understands what we do no

Nobody Else…..

I thought it couldn’t be done With such beautiful decay, beautiful creatures are every where I kept running and kept hiding I was never good at finishing anything I start  All I wanted was a voice, yet no one would listen But you caught me and changed everything You made a difference where nobody else seems to You gave me a voice louder than mine Questions and answers to life you got them all Got me to where I wouldn’t reach You would go along as long as I was going You showed me how worthwhile things can be when we earn them How things can be seen clearly without the tears and in the rain You showed me it was no use standing along the road when I could go on the ride with you. There was no need to sit and fantasize or dream about pot of gold’s nor about the things I would like to have when all the gold and silver belongs to you You drew me close even when all I wanted was to be far away Nobody else does it like you do Nobody else writes it just lik

Self-centeredness..#The Root Of Unhappiness!

We can try all we want to prescribe rules and regulations for people to live by, but if their hearts are not changed, they will break our rules and resent us for making them. There will always be a time when we have to realize and admit we are being selfish, but we can only come to this realization if we learn to be honest with ourselves. Yea, I know it’s not always that easy. The heart of the gospel and the heart of love is dying to self. If we are truly going to love others, we have to resist self-centeredness in every form. Self-centeredness means being completely focused on ourselves, wants, our desires, our priorities etc. We constantly expect people around us to exist for our benefit and not for themselves. We believe and think they should work to keep us happy, do what we want, and put us first. And by all means, they should not do anything to irritate us or get on our nerves, frustrate or inconvenience us.    William Gladstone once said “Selfishness is the greatest

Agree With God..#Be Doubtless!

I am grieved when I hear people devalue themselves with comments such as “I am so stupid”, “I hate the way I look”, “I never do anything right”. When I ask them why they are so fast to condemn themselves their responses are always “My mama said I would never be anything”, “my step father says I’m a failure”, “my friends says I’m a failure”, “my boss doesn’t see anything good in me”. These remarks and many others are so sad and derogatory, they represent an unbiblical way people think about themselves and I have come to understand how dangerous that kind of speaking and thinking is. It does not reflect the truth of God’s word, align with the way He thinks about us. It leaves us trapped and continually live in fear, be less fruitful and less powerful than He desires us to be. We can never rise above the thoughts and beliefs we have towards ourselves, so we must make sure we believe what God says about us. We must stop merely agreeing with other people and their negative pronounc

How Great Is Our God?….

I don’t think i can ever find an answer to this question, because every time i find an answer, he surprises me with another act that leaves me speechless and in awe. Just as king David sang in Psalms ” Lord there is no good thing apart from you”, that’s how we can not boast in our lives because we have no life of our own and all we have belongs to God. If we know God is everything then we need to give him the glory he deserves. We need to realize he is the captain if our ships and we can be sure of safety, with no fear of storm not ship wreck. Our God is great, he is the one who created the whole universe and is never limited by his creation. The only awesome God. Upon creation God gave us the gift of freewill and an option. We are entitled to our own decisions and must also face the consequences of our decisions. God is compassionate, merciful, gracious and abounding in mercy. He is always faithful even in our unfaithfulness.   In our society today, we are always preoccupied wi

Life In Lasgidi….(Lagos)

Imagine waking up with a smile and be left puzzled by the end of the day? Commuters, conductors, drivers in Lagos metropolis have a way of defining how your day would turn out to be. You can’t imagine what’s it’s like living in a city like Lagos. You can never get it right, believe me. The day you decide to be holy, lagosians would make sure you are the most corrupt for the day. “There is no gentle man in Lagos” that is the commonly used slang in the city. It is often said that the gentle ones are the ones that get pushed around and now am beginning to understand that.  When it rains, it’s another tug of war. The conductors and the drivers capitalizes on that and hike the fare. You either ride or get down, they tell you, “ them force you enter?”  will keep blasting your ears. Car horns blasts as vehicles make their way through the traffic, street music blasting the serenity of the environment, rowdy vendors clamoring to sell their merchandise. The lanes are indicators of where yo

A Friend Indeed?…

I have always told myself and the people around me to be very careful when choosing a friend, for a good friend will bring out the best in you and make you shine while a fake or bad friend will break you in every way. A poem says ” If you have a friendship with a person of bad character or reputation, you become as nameless and formless like the drop of water on a frying pan on a hot burning oven. The drop of water evaporates and disappears after a short while.”   So it is when you have a bad friend, you cease to be good and will only be remembered for bad. Who needs such a friend? Evil communication corrupts good manner is an adage as old as time but you never understand this quote until you have a bad friend.  You may be a polite, soft-spoken person of gentle manners while your friend may be domineering, rough, roguish and given to evil ways, it will only be a matter of time before that friend will take advantage of your innocence, softness and trick you, or even lead you to a
