Becoming What You Believe…..

Hi everyone, am I the only one or is there anyone else thankful for this holiday break? I wish the holidays could stretch a little longer but then it’s not just about me. Many of us have jobs, businesses, school, life to get back to. Wondering what holiday am talking about? Well, I am referring to the break given to all our Muslim faithful’s as they round up their fast and since it’s a national break it extended to everyone in the country.
Yesterday, I wrote on agreeing with God and how we need to value ourselves and always know that God does not measure our worth by what we do.
https://whitneyibeblog.wordpress.com/2017/06/25/agree-with-god-be-doubtless/?preview=true... Today, my little one said to me she doesn’t want to go to school anymore. I asked her why she would take such a decision and she said: “I am not good in mathematics and I keep getting low scores.” “Everyone keeps laughing at me”.  I have always known mathematics is not one of her strengths, she prefers to write and loves to paint but her passing mathematics is important and prerequisite to making it to another class, and so I promised to get her a mathematics home teacher that will take her through some exercises after school and also assist her with whatever she may need to get her sums right.
Having promised her all these I also reminded her that” She only becomes what she believes”. If she believes she will never get her sums right nor pass her exams then she will never get it right and she will never pass her exams either. I could see the disgust on her face when I told her if she believes she can’t pass then she won’t pass. She immediately said “I believe I can do this Mum and I will do it right. Will you help me?” I smiled and hugged her while reassuring her that I will help her.
Many of us today believe more in our weaknesses and failures and gradually become weak to take bold steps much less succeeding. Our thoughts are very powerful, if we dwell so much on them we see them coming to pass even without us consciously been aware of it. Proverbs 23:7 (KJV) for as he thinketh in his heart, so is he: Eat and drink, saith he to thee; but his heart is not with thee.
The same thing happens to us Christians and believers. When you come to know who you are in Christ believing what the Bible says about you, then no matter how you feel, and no matter what others say, God’s promises concerning you will be released in your life through faith. You may make mistakes, but if you keep believing what God’s Word says about you, then you will become who God says you can be; you will do what he says you can do and you can have what he says you can have. But on the other hand, you are not likely to experience the blessings of God’s promises if you do not believe them. Daniel 11:32 (KJV) and such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits.”
Are you believing God’s word in every area of your life right now? If not, you can change that by simply making the decision to believe. Are you applying the truth of God’s Word to every situation in which you find yourself? If not, why not make a change today? What do you believe about yourself? Does it agree with God’s word or to man’s pronouncement? You can decide to believe everything God says about you and embrace his plan for you. You do not have to believe what man says or wait for any feeling; you can make a decision. What do you believe about your future? Does it reflect the truth of God’s word? What do you believe about your past? Does it align with God’s truth? What do you believe about the situations that seem impossible like that of my little girl’s? Are your beliefs scriptural?
The answers to these questions will determine how you see yourself. To really know who you are and walk in the freedom and power of your identity in Christ, your beliefs, must align with the truth of God. The simple truth is “You cannot be defeated when God is on your side.” Become the warrior you believe you are. God bless you….

How Justified Are You.... .

We are saved not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit"</strong></em> Total Justification by faith was Martin Luther's great spiritual and theological breakthrough. It did not come easily. He had tried everything from sleeping on hard floors and fasting to climbing a staircase in Rome while kneeling in prayer. Monasteries, disciplines, confessions, masses, absolutions, good works-all proved fruitless. Peace with God eluded him. The thought of the righteousness of God pursued him. He hated the very word "righteousness," which he believed provided a divine mandate to condemn him. Light finally dawned for Luther as he meditated on Romans 1:17, "<em>For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith</em>." He saw for the first time that the righteousness Paul ha...

No Place Like Home…

Home is anywhere you find peace and fulfillment, anywhere you are free to be yourself, express yourself and still be accepted. It could also be within the confines of a building, although not all the time. Growing up, i was a bit hyperactive and troublesome. I would go outside and look for trouble and when a fight starts, i would run back home where i know i will be safe and my brother’s would fight for me. To me, my home was my safe haven, my dad my hero, my mom my mentor and my siblings my best support system. It didn’t matter where i was, i would always want to run back home.  Over the years i have discovered that a lot of people do not feel at home in their homes, nor use their voices in their own homes. We must have all heard of the saying “Home is where the heart is.”right? For me, my home isn’t just a place where i eat and sleep, it’s also a place where i find peace, a place where i don’t have to hide what I feel and how i feel. It serves a greater purpose than simpl...

Greener Grass....(The Secret To Happiness)

<a href="http://whitneyibeblog.files.wordpress.com/2016/12/wp-1482219406291.jpeg"><img title="wp-1482219406291" class="alignnone size-full" alt="image" src="http://whitneyibeblog.files.wordpress.com/2016/12/wp-1482219406291.jpeg" /></a> We need to search our lives for any areas where we've subscribed to the "Greener Grass" mentality and renounce these in the name of Jesus. We need to  spend time looking for the many blessings God has put in our lives. We <strong><em>will </em></strong>find them, and the day we do will mark the first day in our lives that we are truly happy.  This however, does lead to an interesting question: If the "greener grass" mentality only leads us to discontentment and sin, and if this spirit of covetousness is at the root of all ev il, then why do we always seek the "greener grass" that we don't have? The answer is simple: It is...
